Valentine Goodies

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Valentine's Day! I thought I would post some quick pictures of some of the goodies I created for Valentine's Day this year. The first is the card I created for my husband. I used Stampin Up's heart punch and the new mini heart punch (in the Occasions Mini Catalog) to create all the hearts on the front of my card. I also used the Well Scripted and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets. I love anything Zebra print...so I used some zebra paper tape I had on hand on this card.  I wrote "I'm Wild About You" on the inside of the card.  The small hearts are punched from silver paper.

I also created these fun little pillow box treats for my nieces and nephews and a few other special friends.  I used some pillow boxes that I purchased and decorated them with some hearts stamped with a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  The little heart is once again from the mini heart punch.  I covered it in chocolate glitter.  It was just the right sparkly touch!  The belly bad was made from the Sending Love DSP from the Occasions Mini.  Paper works better than card stock for belly bands because it bends easily with the curves of the  pillow box.  The pillow box die that Stampin Up sells is much smaller than this pillow box.

Finally, I want to share with you the headband that I created for my little niece.  She's not old enough to have candy, so I thought I would whip her up a headband with stuff I had on hand in my craft room.  Before you ask, yes, I just happened to have all of this stuff in my craft room.  I used a silk flower, a headband and some crystals I had on hand.  I sewed the flower onto the headband to keep it secured.  While Fabri-Tac is good glue, I though this needed a few stitches for security.  It looked so cute on her little head!

Finally, I had a question from one of my readers about the type of video camera that I bought.  I bought a Flip Mino HD 120.  It is very tiny and I can easily carry it anywhere.  The biggest drawback that I read on all the reviews is that it lacks image stabilization.  It is also pretty affordable.  I've been very happy with it.  I had a PC and Microsoft editing software which didn't recognize the format that the Mino records in...so that caused some issues for me.  It records in MP4 format, so check your compatibility before you buy.  I would also recommend that you have an external hard drive to store your videos on.  I have  a Western Digital Passport external drive.
