How To Add Color And Embossing To Vellum - Getting To Know The EllenHutson.com Design Ambassadors
Hey everyone! I'm so glad you've stopped by today! I have a project I think you're going to ❤︎.
I've been paper crafting for many years now....16 to be exact. But I can honesty say that I'm still learning new tips and tricks from other people in this fabulous community. My favorite tip/trick is adding color to vellum using Copic markers and dye inks!
Today's project is all about my own personal style. And I think it includes my favorite things....a clean and simple design, vellum, sequins for sparkle and GOLD. Did I mention I ❤︎ GOLD! And gold glitter. And gold foil. And gold embossing. And gold....real gold. HA HA! All of those elements together make a card perfectly ME!
Vellum is one of my favorite mediums. It gives such a beautiful, etherial look to projects and creates a softness that can't really be achieved in the same way with any other medium. By adding ink, you can add color to vellum and make it even more beautiful. You CAN use dye inks for this, but I prefer to use Copic markers. The alcohol base of the inks makes it dry much faster on this smooth, slick surface.
In the video tutorial, I'll walk you through exactly how I made today's projects. And I decided to pull out some of my favorites from the Essentials By Ellen line. The mermaid comeback was definitely long overdue. Be sure to check out today's video. If you want to watch this video in HD on my YouTube channel you can click HERE.
I've included a slew of photos in the gallery below. Gotta love some good eye candy!
