Oh Joy Ornament Card - Watercolor Resist
Reveal day for Studio Calico is here! You can see all of my reveal projects featuring Studio Calico's The Underground card kit at this blog post here. But I wanted to share a very special project featuring the new Snowman Stamp Set from Studio Calico (one of FOUR stamp set add ons for October from Studio Calico).
Although this is technically a Christmas/Winter stamp set, I think you'll be reaching for this stamp set well past the holiday season. Those circles will come in handy for birthday cards and making confetti backgrounds for any celebration!
I used the Oh Joy sentiment and the ring circle stamps to heat emboss ornaments on watercolor paper. I then used my Peerless Watercolors to watercolor the images. You can use any kind of coloring medium that you prefer. I was feeling artsy that day, and decided to reach for my watercolors. I always enjoy watercoloring, and it gives such a beautiful result, with very little work.
The colors of my ornaments were inspired by Studio Calico's newest ink pad colors, Lime Light, Glass Slipper and Purple Rain. Love these colors! And they work beautifully for a non traditional Christmas color scheme. You could also watercolor your images using the ink from your Studio Calico ink pads.
I have included a video tutorial below, walking you through the entire creation of this card. I've also included links to the products used in this project below. Just click the link to go directly to the product page.
I wanted to show you a look at some of the other cards I created using this Snowman Stamp Set. You can see the full cards by visiting this blog post here...where I show you the full Studio Calico The Underground projects!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day!
