Watercolored Letterpress

Hi everyone!  I’m back for a quick post.  If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter (@carissawiley) you probably saw that I have been on vacation with my family.  We had such a wonderful time together.  We arrived back home last night and today I am off to CHA in Las Vegas.

I wanted to bring you a cool new technique that I am calling Watercolored Letterpress.  I’ve been thinking about trying this technique for some time…and I finally got around to it.  I realize that I used a spray to create the “watercolor” but it works just the same using some watercolors and a brush and then letter pressing over that.  I've also been successful with letter pressing images first and then watercoloring them with watercolors and a brush.  This is especially beautiful with flower images.

The background was inspired by the ocean and reminds me of a mermaid’s tail.  The photo just doesn’t do it justice.  We went on a cruise to the Caribbean on our vacation, and I’ve had all things sea and nautical on the brain.  I just love this background.

I have posted a video walking you through the entire creation of this card.  I have also linked the products I used in this card below.  If you head over to Lifestyle Crafts to do some shopping, use the coupon code GLITTER at checkout to receive 20% off your order.

I hate to rush off so quickly, but I’m off to Vegas BABY with my bestest friend.  Hope to hear from all of you soon!

Have a fabulous day!
