Aviary Card

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a great weekend!  We have been very busy, but having lots of fun!

I thought I would end this weekend by adding another video to my blog.  This card was inspired by a card that I saw on Split Coast Stampers.  I used bot the Aviary stamp set and A Word For You stamp set.  Both sets are new this year to the Stampin Up catalog and they are definitely among my favorites.

The shape of this card is a little different.  It's fun to do a different kind of card every now and then.  The base is Baja Breeze.  It is layered with Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.

I also tried out the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch.  It is a really cool touch...and a must have tool.

You will see that I struggled a little bit with alignment on this card.  If you are looking for perfection, you won't find it here!  You can use your Stamp-a-majig to make sure you are perfectly lined up.  I often like to do things the most difficult way possible, so I hope that you will learn from my mistakes.

On a more personal note, we had a fun Back To School service at church this morning.  I teach music to the Kindergarten through 5th graders.  Our group is called The Sparks.  We opened service with two fun songs this morning.  They did really well.  Our high school department preformed a drama and the youth band led worship.  It was a  fun change of pace.

If you are interested in following me on Twitter, my id is carissawiley.  I am also on Facebook.  But please let me know that you are a fellow crafter...or I may not approve your friend request.

I hope the rest of your Sunday is relaxing.  We are back to church tonight for another special service.  We are getting the kids all geared up for school.

Enjoy your day!
